HOBOKEN, NY – The Alfred University men's soccer teams lost to host Stevens College by the score of 2-1 in Empire 8 play Saturday afternoon.
It was a defensive game until the 42
nd minute when forward
Tommy Dorsay got into the scoring column off the feed from midfielder
Jimmy Doran and forward
Chris Cesario to give the Ducks the momentum going into halftime.
The Saxons (7-7-2,1-3-2 E8) came out of the halftime on a mission as junior midfielder
Cody Cronmiller (Livonia, NY / Livonia) tied the game up in the 46
th minute off the great passing from senior forward
Oumar Soumahoro (New York, NY / Martin Luther King) and sophomore midfielder
Adam Taylor (Newton, NJ / Sussex County Technical).
Stevens College made a late push and at the 71
st minute, midfielder
Andrew Masur scored the game winning goal off the assist from forward
Tommy Dorsay and midfielder
Daniel Aversano.
The Saxons and Ducks played a hard fought game as they tied in corner kicks with seven apiece while the Ducks had the slight advantage in shots, 12-10.

Chris Gutierrez (Holbrook, NY / Sachem East) had another solid outing as he made five saves in the loss. His counterpart,
Mitko Bozinov made two saves in the win.
