Meet ResultsITHACA, NY – The Alfred University men's swimming and diving team lost a dual meet to host Ithaca College, 211-81, Saturday afternoon.
Sophomores
Alec Toth (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) and
Joseph Lawrence (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) earned individual wins for the Saxons, with Toth winning the 500 freestyle in 5:00.57 and Lawrence taking the 100 butterfly in 54.31 seconds. Toth also took second in the 200 free (1:48.33), while Lawrence placed third in the 100 free (50.39).
AU junior
Christopher Deaver (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) took second in both diving events, scoring 268.40 on the 1-meter board and 264.30 on the 3-meter board. Sophomore
Seth Steele (Crossville, TN/Cicero-North Syracuse) was third in 1-meter diving (148.80).
Other top performers for the AU men were: senior
Sheldon Vosburgh (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie), third in the 1,000 freestyle (10:46.84); senior
Jake Olson (Dansville, NY/Dansville), third in the 1000 backstroke (59.12); and freshman
Justin Cerrato (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington), second in the 200 fly (2:17.80)
AU is in action next at the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association (UNYSCSA)/Empire 8 Conference championships, Feb. 17-20 at Ithaca College.
