CORTLAND, NY – Host Cortland handed the Alfred University women's tennis team a 7-2 defeat Thursday afternoon.
 
Alfred (0-5) won two singles matches. Senior Rachel Cook (Youngstown, OH/Laurel Springs) claimed first singles, 7-5, 10-7, while senior Emma Jackson (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) earned a 3-6, 6-3, 10-6 victory in second singles.
 
AU is in action next on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. at Empire 8 Conference foe Nazareth.
