HOUGHTON, NY – Visiting Stevens defeated the Alfred University women's tennis team, 8-1, Saturday morning in Empire 8 Conference action.
 
The match was played on the indoor courts at Houghton College due to rain. Alfred earned its lone point in first singles, where seniors Rachel Cook (Youngstown, OH/Laurel Springs) and Emma Jackson (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) prevailed , 9-7.
 
AU is in action next on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 12 p.m. at home against Hartwick.
