ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team fell in their second dual match of the 2015-16 season to Oswego State, 2-7 on Sunday afternoon on the William T. Brown Tennis Courts.

Junior Patrick Brown (Olean, NY/Olean) and senior Matt Baloga (Goshen, NY/Goshen) won their doubles match at No. 2 against Oswego's Jon Matros and John Stanford, 8-6.

Senior Connor Doud (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) won his singles match at No. 1 against the Lakers' Alex McCarthy in two sets, 6-1, 6-0.

Freshman Tristan Gill (Pine Hill, NY/Onteora Central) had a close No. 6 singles battle with Stanford but fell 3-6, 4-6.

Sunday's match wraps up the fall portion of the season for the Saxons (0-2, 0-0 Empire 8) as they now wait for their main-portion of their season in the spring. They will open up on the road again to Erie, PA to face off with Penn State-Behrend again on Sunday, February 28.
