ALFRED, NY -- The Alfred University women's tennis team hosted Empire 8 Conference foe Elmira Tuesday afternoon and the visiting Soaring Eagles came away with an 8-1 victory.

AU (3-5, 3-3 Empire 8) earned it's lone point in doubles play, with senior Betsy Clark (Webster, NY/Bishop Kearney) and freshman Sarah Grace (Rochester, NY/Penfield) winning their third doubles match, 9-8.

AU plays next on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 3 p.m. at home against non-league opponent Fredonia.
