ONEONTA, NY -- The Alfred University women's tennis team scored a 6-1 victory over host Hartwick Saturday afternoon.
AU swept four singles matches and two of three doubles matches to improve to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in Empire 8 Conference play.
Senior
Brennan Ferguson (Destrechan, LA/Ursuline) won first singles, 7-6, 4-6, 13-11; sophomore
Rachel Cook (Youngstown, OH/Laurel Springs) won second singles, 6-1, 6-2; junior
Emma Jackson (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) won third singles, 6-1, 6-2; and senior
Emily Eisenberg (Oyster Bay, NY/Oyster Bay) took fourth singles, 6-2, 4-6, 10-4.
Cook and Jackson won first doubles, 8-5, while Ferguson and Eisenberg claimed their second doubles match, 8-1.
Alfred is in action next on Sunday, Sept. 14, at noon at Stevens.
