ALFRED, NY – Stefan Nonnenmann (New Providence, NJ/New Providence), a senior at Alfred University, has been named Empire 8 Conference men's tennis Player of the Week.

Nonnenmann was honored for his play last week, when he won his fourth singles match against D'Youville to help the host Saxons to an 8-1 win. It was his 14^th singles win of the season, which sets a new school record. He also teamed with senior Connor Doud (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) to win first doubles.

Earlier this year, Nonnenmann broke the school record for career singles wins and combined singles and doubles wins. His 39 doubles wins are one off the AU career record of 40 held by Nick Schneider.

AU is in action next on Tuesday, April 22, at 4 p.m. at St. John Fisher.
