ALFRED, NY-- The Alfred University women's lacrosse team dropped a 15-4 decision to visiting Utica College, 15-4, in Empire 8 play Saturday afternoon.

Utica carried a 10-1 lead into halftime and outscored AU 5-3 in the second half.

Junior attack Kaitlyn Button (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) fueled the Lady Saxon offense with four goals. Senior midfielder Janelle Gallipeau (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) and junior midfielder Sarah Evans (Lafayette, NY/Manlius-Pebble Hill) both picked up three ground balls and freshman attack Dana Ganley (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) caused two turnovers.

Junior goalie Taylor Tarajos (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) made eight saves in 60 minutes, for AU.

AU (1-6, 0-3 Empire 8) next faces Ithaca College on Sunday, April 12, at 1 p.m.
