ALFRED, NY — Mary Baughman (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta), a sophomore on the Alfred University women's cross country team, has earned top weekly honors from the Empire 8 Conference.
                
Baughman was named Empire 8 Women's Runner of the Week for her performance at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) championship meet Saturday in Westfield, MA. Her time of 22:26.61 on the six-kilometer course was good for seventh place and helped lead the AU women's team to a 21^st-place finish, of 48 teams competing. She earned All-ECAC honors, which are awarded to the top 15 runners in the men's and women's championships.
                
AU is in action next on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional meet in Rochester, NY.
