Box Score ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's basketball team beat Houghton College, 103-73, Tuesday evening in their second meeting of the season. This win puts AU at 13-4 for the season (6-2 Empire 8).

Junior forward Dalton Marsh (Stockton, NY/Casadaga Valley) fueled the Saxon's offense in the first half, making five-of-six baskets from the field, for 11 points. AU went into the break ahead 47-42.

Walsh topped off an 11-4 AU run with a layup, putting AU ahead 58-44 with 16 minutes remaining in regulation. The Highlanders came no closer than six points for the rest of the contest.

For the game, Alfred shot 44 percent from the field, 35 percent from beyond the arc, and 57 percent from the free-throw line, forcing Houghton into 25 turnovers.

Finishing with a team-high 15 points, Walsh went seven-for-nine from the floor and grabbed a team-best nine rebounds. Senior forward Gerald Colas (Houston, TX/Cypress Ridge), senior guard Thomas Tsatsis (Neponsit, NY/Townsend Harris), and freshman guard Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) each finished with 14 points.

Alfred heads to Utica College on Friday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. to resume Empire 8 play.
