ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team opened its four-match fall season with a 9-0 victory over visiting Lycoming College on Sunday.

In singles play, AU got wins from sophomore Connor Doud (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa), 6-0, 6-0 in first singles; senior Peter Benoit (Gasport, NY/Barker), 6-0, 6-1 in second singles; junior Michael Graham (Elmira, NY/Southside), 5-7, 6-1, 10-7 in third singles; freshman Evan Haskins (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North), 8-5 in fourth singles; senior Peter Teller (Granville, NY/Granville), 8-1 in fifth singles; and junior Dalton Divine (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent). 8-4 in sixth singles.

Doud and Benoit took first doubles, 8-4; Graham and Haskins won second doubles, 8-2; and senior Trenton Berardi (Warren, PA/Warren) and sophomore Matt Baloga (Goshen, NY/Goshen) claimed third doubles, 8-3.

The AU men play next on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. against Hamilton College and at 2 p.m. against Oswego, both at Elmira College.
