Smit led the Saxons to their fourth-place finish at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Semi Finals on Saturday and Sunday as the Saxons qualified as a whole team to the IHSA National Championships in May. Smit not only led the Saxons in the Team Ridings by becoming the Reserve Champion in Open Horsemanship, overall, she was fourth in the High Point Rider Competition, advancing to the National Championships as an individual. She finished fourth in Individual Riding’s Open Reigning and sixth in Open Horsemanship. Smit will show for the Saxons in the High Point Rider Competition against the Top-12 Open Riders in the nation in May. Her efforts helped cement the Saxons as one of the Top-12 Nationally-Ranked teams in the Team Competition at the IHSA Nationals in Tryon, NC.
