Gonzalez had seven first place finishes and one second place finish during the two-meet week. He totaled three individual wins and a second place relay finish on Wednesday against SUNY Geneseo. His wins were in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.16, the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:09.94 (almost seven seconds faster than the rest of the competition) and the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:00.50 (over four seconds faster than the rest of the pool). He teamed with William LaMastus, Emiliano Terrazas and Emmanuel Drappatz for his lone second place finish of the week, clocking a time of 1:37.70 in the 200-yard medley relay against the Knights. On Saturday, Gonzalez joined the same Saxons to win the medley relay with a time of 1:38.47 over the Hawks of Hartwick College. He won the 100-breast with a time of 59.09 and the 200-breast with a time of 2:09.26, but his biggest highlight of the day occurred in the 200-yard individual medley. Gonzalez added another McLane Natatorium pool record as he won the event with a time of 1:57.45, breaking the previous pool record of 1:57.72, held by Hartwick’s Aron Zhang since 2017.
