Gilbert not only won the women’s 600-meter dash on Saturday, but also broke the SUNY Brockport Invitational meet record while falling just short of the all-time Alfred University school record. Gilbert tied for the ninth fastest time in Division III during the 2024 indoor season with her time of 1:38.44. Her new time topped her previous personal best time of 1:41.55 as she was just 0.44 seconds away from tying the school record of 1:38.00. The record, set by Amy Tuttle in 1976 is the oldest AU women’s track & field record (both indoor and outdoor) that stands. Gilbert defeated the rest of the 16-runner field by almost an entire three seconds or more. Her win gave AU 10 points towards their 13.5-point total as the Saxons finished 11^th out of 14 teams on Saturday. She was named an Alfred University Saxon of the Week for her efforts.
