First-year Meghan Neto not only hit the Saxons’ first home run of the season but added a second one on a week where she had a hand in seven scores for AU as they opened up conference play with a double-header sweep over Utica University. She totaled four runs and three RBI with two homers and one double while going 4-for-11 (.364 avg.). Her first homer of the week came at regional powerhouse, SUNY Geneseo as she set a collegiate career-high in runs in that game as well, crossing home plate twice. Neto scored runs in both of the Saxons’ wins over the Pioneers of Utica while earning two RBI in her two-run homer in the nightcap. She was 1-for-1 in the closing game on Sunday with one walk and one sacrificed fly. Defensively, Neto was perfect on the week with four putouts on her four chances including snagging a fouled flyball against Utica from left field.
