Ion was named the Alfred Classic Most Valuable Player as she broke a career-high in rebounds on Saturday against Hiram College, nearing the school record of 25 as she pulled down 19 in the opening round of the tournament. She had 13 defensive rebounds and six offensive rebounds in the matchup with the Terriers while also scoring 14 points for the double-double, scoring 10 of the points from the floor and four from the free throw line. She added a game-high four steals as well as a block and an assist on Saturday’s win. Ion then had a game-high 14 points in only 12 minutes of play for the Saxons in Sunday’s dominant win over SUNY Delhi. She was 4-for-7 from 3-point land, adding another bucket from inside of the arc while pulling down seven rebounds while stealing the ball once.
