Junior Ashley Lugo Helped the Saxons go 6-2 on the week as she broke the Alfred University school record for single-season stolen bases, getting her 29th against Keuka College, recording four on the day to surpass Saxon All-American Liz Thompson ’17 who had 28 in 2017. She is now just two stolen bases away from tying the school record for career stolen bases, as she is now at 66 with Thompson at 68. Lugo recorded 10 stolen bases on 10 attempts in the week, getting at least one in every game except the second game of the Houghton College double-header. Lugo went 10-for-27 (.370 average), recording four doubles and one triple while batting in two runners and crossing home plate nine times, herself. She was only struck out once in the eight-game week while being walked once and hit-by-pitch four times. Defensively, Lugo had 10 putouts and six assists.
