Graduate Jessica Wilcox, despite being off the softball field for over a year has not lost her touch inside the pitcher’s circle. In three games, Wilcox sat batters 34 times, averaging over 11 strikeouts a game. Wilcox tied the all-time Alfred University record for pitching wins at 39 after Sunday’s defeat of Buffalo State. She also tied her very own single-game strikeouts record with 14 against No. 22 SUNY Geneseo. It was the third time she has earned 14 strikeouts in a single game as she did that against St. John Fisher College in 2019 and Sage Colleges in 2018. Wilcox did not walk a single batter in those three games as she only gave up 12 hits, two earned runs, four doubles and hit batters twice. Wilcox had three assists and one putout with no errors last week as well.
