Junior captain Garrette Briggs had a stellar week of faceoffs as he led the Saxons with a record of 44-52 (0.846 win percentage). He was 20-of-24 in the narrow loss to SUNY Geneseo and was 24-of-28 against The Sage Colleges in the Saxons’ Empire 8 opener. Sunday’s faceoff wins was one shy of tying the school record and the Empire 8 record of 25. Both records are owned by Briggs. He has also recorded his fourth and fifth games with double-digit ground balls as he picked up 13 against Geneseo and 14 against Sage. Briggs also scored his second goal of the season against Sage as he ties his career-best for goals in a season.
