First-year Lauren Serotta showcased her talents in the pool this past week during the Empire 8 Women’s Swimming & Diving Conference Championships. She earned two All-Empire 8 Conference Second Team honors, but her top performance was in breaking the 200-yard Backstroke on Saturday. She first topped it in the preliminaries during Saturday’s morning session with a 2:12.84, breaking the previous mark of 2:14.59. Then in the finals, she took more time off with a 2:11.34. The final time earned Serotta her second All-Empire 8 Second Team honor. On Friday, Serotta got her first collegiate All-Conference recognition as she claimed Second Team in the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 59.69. Here are all of her events, times and places:

• 200-yard Individual Medley
  • 2:18.87 – 9^th place
• 200-yard Medley Relay: Olivia Piazza, Elizabeth Schiffhauer and Kristin Brown
  • 1:53.61 – 4^th place

Thursday

• 400-yard Medley Relay: Amanda Guariglia, Megan Steen and Olivia Piazza
  • 4:17.27 – 4^th place

Friday

• 100-yard Backstroke
  • 59.69 – 2^nd Place
• 800-yard Freestyle Relay: Elizabeth Schiffhauer, Megan Steen and Kristin Brown
  • 8:29.16 – 5^th Place

Saturday

• 200-yard Backstroke
  • 2:11.34 – 2^nd Place
• 400-yard Freestyle Relay: Amanda Guariglia, Elizabeth Schiffhauer and Kristin Brown
