Welty led the Saxons to an impressive season-opening week as they went 2-0, defeating Morrisville State and Buffalo State. Welty totaled five collegiate career-highs in the season-opening win over the Mustangs. She set new marks in points (21), FGM (8), O-Rebounds (6), D-Rebounds (8) and Total Rebounds (14) as the Saxons defeated Morrisville, 91-84. She finished the week with 28 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and a steal while going 10-of-16 from the floor, 2-of-5 from 3-point land and 6-of-11 from the charity stripe. She also scored the 86th point of the game on Tuesday in overtime which went on to be the game-winning score.
