Senior Miguel Reyes helped lift the Saxons to a 3-2 Empire 8 win on Saturday. The Saxons were the first between them and Houghton to get on the scoreboard just 26 minutes into the game, but back-to-back goals by the Highlanders put the Saxons down by one. With just eight minutes left in regulations, Alfred was awarded a direct kick after a Highlander earned a red card. Reyes took the kick and curved the shot from 20 yards out into the top left corner of the goal, tying the match, 2-2. Deep into the second overtime period, Reyes was awarded a penalty kick in which he kept his shot low and again, to the left as the Houghton keeper dove the opposite way.
