Junior Seth Spicer led the Saxons during the Houghton College December Classic both on the track and in the field. Spicer got things started with a personal best in the 60 Meter Hurdles. His previous top mark was a 9.16 set on February 6 of last season at Ithaca College. He broke it with an 8.68, first-place finish on Saturday. Spicer then ran the third leg of the 4x400 Meter Relay with the team of Spencer Cameron-Pressley, Erik Diehl and Jordan Schools as the Saxons finished fourth with a 3:39.44, less than a second out of third place. He then took to his field events, leading the Saxons in shot put with a personal best, fourth-place finish of 12.60 meters (41’-4.1”) and tying for sixth in the pole vault with another personal best with a height of 3.65 meters (11’-11.7”).
