Junior Dylan Staniszewski (Oakton, VA/Oakton) has been named the Alfred University Female Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Empire 8/UNYSCSA meet last week.

The junior swimmer posted four top-ten finishes at the state meet, finishing as high as sixth place in the 500 free with a time of 5:10.33. Staniszewski also broke the Alfred University school record in the race preliminaries with a time of 5:09.06. The junior freestyler also finished seventh in the 100 free with a time of 53.73 seconds.

In addition to her individual performances, Staniszewski was also a member of the 200 free relay team of senior Kelsey McRill (Solon, OH/Solon) and juniors Samantha Brown (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) and Leah Zimmerman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) that finished in eighth place with a time of 1:40.64 in the meet. Lastly, Staniszewski teamed up with McRill, junior Faith Lanfear (Port Crane, NY/Chenango Forks) and sophomore Megan Steen (Portsmouth, RI/Portsmouth) to place 10th in the 800 free relay with a time of 8:17.57.
