Senior Tyler Johnson broke a school record on Saturday during the Elite 8 round of the NCAA Division III National Football Championships against Mount Union. The quarterback threw for 534 yards which broke the single-game record. He had five touchdown passes with two going to both Brendan Buisch and Jayden Gavidia while Emile Frigon caught one in the end zone. Johnson threw 67 times with 36 passes finding their target including a long pass of 47 yards to Gavidia. Three of Johnson’s seven different targets had over 100 yards receiving. He also led the Saxons in rushing with 15 attempts for a net worth of 43 yards including the Saxons’ lone rushing touchdown.
