Alfred University Athletics

ALFRED, NY-- Senior John Winchell (Vestal, NY/Vestal) has been named the Alfred University Male Athlete of the Week.

Winchell is being honored for his stellar week during which the Saxons went 3-0, moving to 7-0 on the season.  He accumulated five goals, 14 assists, and eight groundballs during the three-game week.  Against Houghton College, Winchell contributed eight assists to the Saxon effort, four assists short of the school record.

The Saxons return to the field Wed. March 25, to take on Empire 8 foe Nazareth College.
