Ortiz joined the Alfred University women's volleyball staff in the summer of 2024 after a successful, five-year career as a Saxon player.
She collected school, conference and regional honors throughout her time as a student-athlete. Ortiz was a two-time Empire 8 Libero/Defensive Specialist of the Year and earned All-Empire 8 honors three times. She helped the Saxons in their historical 2023 season, becoming the first No. 5 seed team to win the Empire 8 Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament as she earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. It was also Alfred University's first Empire 8 Championship crown and first time going to the NCAA Tournament since the 1999 team.
Ortiz was a two-time Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III North Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Month during the 2021 season. She earned Buffalo State Bengal Challenge's most Valuable Player and All-Tournament Team in 2021 while tying a school record for most digs in a five-set match, recording 38 against the hosts. Ortiz earned an Empire 8 Rookie of the Week honor and a Co-Player of the Week recognition while earning Saxon of the Week three times during her career.
Ortiz was the Saxon Volleyball's 2020 Vanguard of Excellence and the 2021 and 2022 Most Valuable Player. She consistently earned Dean's List and Saxon Scholar Athlete. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Fitness Management in 2023 and her MBA in 2024 from Alfred University.
