Laura de Rosales joined the Saxons as the volleyball graduate assistant coach in August 2020. de Rosales will help manage the defense on the court and will assist in the Saxon’s recruiting and travel coordinating efforts off the court. She will also work with Saxon student-athletes in academic mentoring and leadership development while attempting to earn a graduate degree in College Student Development. de Rosales also became the assistant strength and conditioning coach at AU in February, 2021 and is ISSA certified.
 
de Rosales comes to the valley after an impressive four-year career with Division III volleyball powerhouse Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisc. Named a regular starter at libero by her junior year, de Rosales led the Lady Reds to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances in 2018 and 2019. The team also earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2017. As a junior, she was named to the CCIW All-Tournament team as Carthage wrapped up a 21-11 (7-1 CCIW) season. As a senior, she guided the team to its 19th consecutive winning season, a 31-4 (8-0 CCIW) campaign and the program’s first NCAA Division III Volleyball Semifinal appearance since 2015. Carthage’s only losses all year came to 12th-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater, third-ranked Chicago, second-ranked Calvin College, and top-ranked Emory in the tournament. Carthage won 16 matches in a row during the season and downed five ranked teams in its run to the national semifinal.
 
de Rosales earned All-CCIW Second-Team honors in both of her years as a regular starter and finished with over 1,000 digs in her career. In the classroom, she was a four-time Fall CCIW All-Academic selection and was named to the Dean’s List in seven of her eight semesters at the College. de Rosales graduated with a B.A. in Physical Education and Sport Fitness this past May.
 
Prior to her time at Carthage, de Rosales was a four-year letter winner in volleyball at Keith Country Day School in her hometown of Rockford, Ill. She was a part of three Illinois state titles in 2013, 2014, and 2015 and served as a second-team all-conference selection as a senior in the 2015 season.
