Jamie Smith was selected as the Alfred University women's basketball graduate assistant coach before the start of the 2016-17 season. She has been involved in athletics either as a player, coach, athletic administrator, volunteer, advisor and/or a scout for over 20 years.
Smith has worked for or has had influence over several successful Division I and JUCO women’s basketball programs including; St. Peters University, Morgan State University, George Mason University, Daytona State CC.
Smith played college basketball on the Division I level as a point guard and captain from 2008 until 2012, Playing for St. Peters College & later transferring because of injury to Morgan State University where she helped lead her team to their first ever post season play in history as point guard.
As a player, she has earned multiple awards such as:
·      Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-East selection in 2008
·      Second leading scorer in history including (men & women) at Woodland Hills high school
·      Selected to Who's Who Outstanding College Student-Athlete of America in 2012
·      Was a member of the Fabulous 22 Players in, Pennsylvania
·      Junior year was the second Leading Scorer in the state of Pennsylvania
·      Earned Player of the Year Honors and was a Fab Five Honoree
·      Was a Division I point guard, a three-year starter and a captain at Morgan State University
·      Helped lead Morgan State University to the semi-finals of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships
·      Helped the team advance to the Women's National Invitation Tournament post-season play in 2011
·      Graduated with a BS in Broadcasting & Integrated Media in 2014 from Morgan State
