Autumn McLain is in her first year as an assistant coach for the AU women’s basketball team.
A former two-sport standout for the Saxons, McLain played three seasons of basketball and four seasons of tennis at AU. For her career as a basketball player, she started two years at forward and finished her career with 423 points (7.4 per game) and 310 rebounds (5.5 per game). McLain was a team captain her senior year.
McLain also lettered four seasons for the Saxons women’s tennis team, starting each year and earning Empire 8 all-conference honors twice. She has been head coach of women’s tennis at AU the last two seasons, and in 2014 led the Saxons to their first-ever appearance in the four-team Empire 8 Conference championship tournament.
A 2011 AU graduate, McLain earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies (minor in biology). She is currently enrolled in the MBA program at AU and is expected to get her degree in December 2014. She is a residence director at AU and for the last two years has served as assistant director of summer programs at the University.
