Omar Mohamed joined the men's soccer coaching staff upon his earning of his bachelors in accounting from Alfred University in 2016. During his first post-graduate year, he was the men's soccer graduate assistant coach, working towards his MBA-Accounting degree. Mohamed is an assistant coach for the Saxons starting in the 2017 season.
Mohamed has coached in multiple summer skills camps such as the University of Rochester Summer Day Camps during the summer of 2015. He also has worked with the Alfred University summer camps in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
As a Saxon player, Mohamed was a starter all four seasons at midfield. He played in a total of 69 games while accumulating 20 points off of eight assists and six goals. He scored two game-winning goals as well in his career. Mohamed helped the Saxons earn back-to-back post season berths in 2014 and 2015. In his junior season, they made the Empire 8 playoffs for the first time in 10 years. The Saxons also made an appearance in the ECAC Metro/Upstate Championships that season followed with a second stay in the tournament the second year.
Mohamed was an All-Empire 8 First Team member as well as a team captain for the Saxons during his time as a student-athlete.
