Declan O'Grady joined the Alfred University men's lacrosse staff in the fall of 2017 in preparation for the 2018 season as the Graduate Assistant Coach.
O'Grady competed four years at John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH. He became the school's all-time leader in career goals with 184 and points with 243. He helped his team to back-to-back OAC Championship titles in both his junior and senior seasons in 2016 and 2017 that led to two NCAA Tournament appearances. Captained the team in 2017. While a Student-Athlete for the Blue Streaks, O'Grady earned First Team All-OAC all four years, was the 2017 OAC Offensive Player of the Year, named the 2017 Spring Sports MVP at John Carroll, received the 2016 Perseverance Award from JCU and was the OAC Offensive Player of the Week three times spanning from his first-year season, up to his senior year. Also played two years of Blue Streak lacrosse with his younger brother, Patrick, on the team as well.
O'Grady has accumulated coaching experience in the past as a coach for the Cincinnati Royals summer program. He worked with teams ranging from fifth graders to eighth graders while also substituting for the High School Elite Team.
Here at Alfred University, O'Grady is pursuing his Master's of Business Administration.
