After a four-year playing career with the Saxons, Roque Santiago began a new role with the Alfred University football team as a Linebackers Coach in 2025.
Santiago appeared in 28 games for the Saxons, where he totaled 161 career tackles. Off the field, he was a member of SAAC for all four years and LEAD Athletic during the 2022-23 athletic season. Santiago was awarded the Pete DeRose Memorial Award by the team in 2024. He was named a Saxon Scholar Athlete, Dean’s List, and Empire 8 President’s List honoree every semester. Santiago was also a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recipient and was a member of Chi Alpha Sigma.
A native of Canisteo, NY, Santiago graduated with a double Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and Material Science & Engineering. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Ceramic Engineering at AU.
