Jamie Freeland returned to Alfred University in 2017 for his second tenure as an assistant coach for the Saxon football team, in charge of the defensive line.
Freeland had previously coached the defensive line for the Saxons four seasons, from 2011 to 2014.
He first came to AU in 2011 from Canisteo-Greenwood (NY) Central High School, where he was coach of the varsity football team, guiding the school to its first-ever Section V championship tournament appearance in 2005.
Freeland graduated from St. John Fisher College in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in English and earned a master’s degree in education from Capella University in 2005.
