Reed comes to the AU football coaching staff after four-year career playing middle linebacker for the Saxons. A senior captain for the Saxons in 2018, Reed earned the highest honor bestowed upon an AU student-athlete in the Nicholas F. Clark '11 Ideal Saxon Award. He also earned the AU ECAC Merit Medal along with D3Football.com All-East Region Second Team, Empire 8 All-Conference First Team honors. He was the first chosen to wear the #32 jersey in honor of Nicholas Clark '11, and wore it with gusto, leading AU and the Empire 8 with 130 tackles on the season - the sixth-most tackles in a single-season in AU history. He also made his way into the record book when he recorded 17 tackles in a single-game against Ithaca in 2018 - the 10th most tackles in a single-game in program history.
Reed completed his career with 249 career tackles, 17.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks and two interceptions. He graduated in 2019 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
