ROCHESTER, NY - The Alfred University women's soccer team continued Empire 8 action with a 4-0 loss to St. John Fisher University on Saturday evening.
Lauren Mott (Cortland, NY/Cortland) was tested early to begin the contest, recording a save off a header in the 10th minute of action. Mott picked up four additional saves before the Cardinals scored in the 19th minute off a long shot attempt.
Anna Henner (Williamson, NY/Williamsville Senior) was the first Saxon to record a shot on goal, but it was turned away by the opposing goalkeeper.
Sidney Khuns (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) attempted a shot for AU later in the half, but the Saxons went into halftime with a 1-0 deficit.
In the second half, St. John Fisher relied on a pair of goals within a two-minute window to extend their lead.
Reagan Hunt (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) made her collegiate debut beginning in the 69th minute of action. Following a pair of corner kick attempts, the Cardinals scored their fourth goal of the evening, ultimately coming away with the win.
Alfred University will next travel to face Nazareth University on Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
