ALFRED, NY – Alfred University women's basketball guard Jaidyn Chest (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) was named the Empire 8 Co-Player of the Week on Monday.
 
The junior receives this weekly honor for the fourth time this season. Chest's accolade is also the sixth overall for the team this year, tying a school record from 2019-20.
 
The junior led the Saxons with back-to-back 20+ point performances in two home games over the weekend. Chest tallied 24 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals in AU's upset over Russell Sage College on Friday. She shot 8-of-19 from the field, 3-of-6 at the 3-point line and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Chest later followed with 25 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal against Hartwick College on Saturday. She went 8-of-21 overall, along with 4-of-11 from behind the arc and 5-of-6 at the charity stripe.  
 
Chest shares E8 Co-Player of the Week with Stephanie Jean-Baptiste of SUNY Brockport. She was also selected as Saxon of the Week with Jonathan Hodges (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West).
