FREDONIA, NY -- The Alfred University men's soccer team wrapped up its final game in the Blue Devil Classic with a loss to undefeated Buffalo State 4-0.

The Saxons (1-3-0, 0-0-0 Empire 8) got two early looks from the usual suspects of Niko Lampros (Lake Oswego, OR/Lakeridge) and Xavier Bowman (Hampstead, MD/Manchester Valley). Both their shots challenged the Bengals' goaltender in the opening 20 minutes. Dennis Hayes V (Ferndale, NY/Berkley) recorded the third Saxon shot of the afternoon.

In the defensive end, Tyler Mulholland (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township) held his ground with six key saves to keep his team in the match. With back-to-back games with a busy schedule, Alfred University got the chance to rotate players in and rest heavy legs.

Those heavy legs will be needed as AU starts the first of a three-game home stand at Yunevich Stadium leading into the start of conference play. Their final non-conference match up comes against Marywood University on Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m.
