WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Alfred University field hockey team dropped a road contest in non-conference action to Wilkes University on Wednesday evening, 8-0.
The Saxons (0-3, 0-0 Empire 8) spent the game on the defense as the Colonels (2-0, 0-0 Landmark) shot the ball 26 times with 16 of them being on goal.
Molly Howlett (Brockport, NY/Brockport) went in goal in relief and recorded seven saves while giving up four scores. The seven saves is a new season-high.
SadieLyn Combs (Harpursville, NY/Harpursville) recorded one save in goal. The Saxon defense kept the fouls to a minimum inside of the arc, only having to defend against nine penalty corners.
The Saxons will continue their road game streak as they head to Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA for a non-conference match-up on Saturday, September 6 at 1:00pm.
