BROCKPORT, NY -- The Alfred University men's rugby played in its first road match of the fall season at SUNY Brockport in a 55-17 losing effort.
"We played a very experienced and physical Brockport side," Head Coach
Dale Russell said. "We started and finished strong, just need to stay consistent throughout the whole game."
AU finished with three tries on the day from three different players.
Ayomideji Israel-Akinbo (Makhanda, Eastern Cape, South Africa/St. Andrews College),
Eddie Hart IV (Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs), and
Zachary Cuddy (Whitman, MA/South Shore Vocational Technical) all finished with one try each.
It gave a good mix of experience to lots of guys with scoring across classes as well. Cuddy also tacked on yet another conversion, off the back of making seven in the win against Colgate.
The men's rugby team will turn its attention on another road trip up to face Buffalo State. They'll face-off on Saturday, September 20 at 3:00 p.m.
