OSWEGO, NY – The Alfred University women's tennis team opened the 2025-26 season at Oswego State (1-0, 0-0 SUNYAC), coming up short by a score of 7-0 on Saturday.
"It was a very windy day and Oswego State did a much better job of battling the elements and competing," Head Coach
Jake Fisler said. "Definitely a lot of takeaways for practice as we prepare for our next match on Wednesday against Fredonia."
In terms of individual highlights,
Alyssa Seegert (Oroville, CA/Las Plumas) and
Alexis Gits (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) posted four points at No. 2 doubles. Gits and
Allison Windisch (Pittsford, NY/Sutherland) both played close in their first sets at No. 4 and No. 3 singles.
Elizabeth Madsen (Portland, OR/Grant) kept the score close during her second set at No. 1 singles.
The Saxons (0-1, 0-0 Empire 8) host their first home match of the year against Fredonia on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
