ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and Coordinator of Physical Fitness/Wellness Classes, Julie Decker has announced her resignation from Alfred University. Decker has accepted the women's lacrosse coaching position at SUNY Geneseo.

Decker came to Alfred University in June of 2022 following a four-year stint as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at SUNY Plattsburgh. Prior to Plattsburgh, Decker served as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Fort Lewis College.

Across three years with AU, Decker was key to improving the women's lacrosse program. During the 2025 season specifically, Decker and the Saxons tied the program record with five straight wins, recording their most wins in a single season dating back to 2010. Alfred University additionally finished with top five single-season program marks in goals scored (156), assists (64), points (220), ground balls (333), draw controls (185) and caused turnovers (208).

Decker has ties with the Knights of SUNY Geneseo. In 2009-10, Decker started her coaching career as the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at SUNY Geneseo. Additionally, Decker served as an assistant field hockey coach for the Knights.

Alfred University will conduct a national search for its next Head Women's Lacrosse Coach.
