ALFRED, NY -- The Alfred University western equestrian team claimed the High Point Team title on Saturday afternoon in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Area 21 Regional Championship, hosted by AU at the Bromeley-Daggett Equestrian Center at Maris Cuneo Equine Park.
Emma Suplicki (East Concord, NY/Holland) earned 2025 IHSA Area High Point Rider on Saturday as she continues her impressive senior year. "It has been a great season so far for the western team," Head Coach
Adam D'Agostino said. Suplicki was the Reserve Champion in NRHA Reining to add to her season point total.
Samantha Smit (Columbiana, OH/Ursuline) and
Ally Dann (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) were named Champion and Reserve Champion, respectively, in Level II Horsemanship as well as Level II Ranch Riding, earning tickets for both classes at Semi Finals.
Emily Peluso (Johnsonburg, PA/Johnsonburg) also advanced to the Semi Finals as she became the Level I Horsemanship Champion.
Amber Neumann (Buffalo, NY/Tonawanda) earned her Champion title in Beginner Horsemanship.

The Saxons will next turn their sights towards the Semi Finals at the Gloucester County Dream Park in Logan Township, NJ on March 15-16.
