ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's
Grace Rittenhouse (Dansville, NY/Dansville) was selected as one of the Empire 8 Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week on Monday afternoon.
This is her fourth time on the list throughout her career, totaling one Rookie of the Week in 2021, a Player of the Week in 2022 and another earlier this season in November.
Rittenhouse joined the ranks of Saxon players to breach the 1,000-point ceiling over the weekend as she totaled 60 points on the week. Rittenhouse was the game-high scorer in all three contests, helping AU go 2-1 in conference action. She scored 22 points in a Tuesday win over Houghton (as well as the game-winning, buzzer-beater layup), 25 points in the overtime loss to Russell Sage and 13 points in a Saturday win over Hartwick that witnessed her scoring her 1,000th career point. In total, Rittenhouse averaged 20 points per game while shooting 58.8% from 3-point land and 48.9% from the floor. She added 15 rebounds, five steals, four assists and one blocked shot on the week.
Rittenhouse was also named a Saxon of the Week on Monday alongside men's basketball's
