ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's
Carmine Hoag (Salamanca, NY/Salamanca) was named an Empire 8 Football Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Hoag enjoyed a breakout game with Alfred University, who defeated Hartwick College in 45-24 fashion on Saturday. Hoag finished the game with 82 receiving yards and three touchdowns across seven receptions. In the first quarter, Hoag connected with quarterback
Chris Kelly for a 23-yard touchdown to put AU on the scoreboard. With under a minute to go in the first half, Hoag recorded his second touchdown. Hoag was credited with his third touchdown of the contest during the third quarter. The sophomore brought in three receptions for 10 yards or more, with two of the receptions being for 20 yards or more. Overall, Hoag has tallied at least one touchdown in each of the first five games for the Saxons.
Hoag was also named a Saxon of the Week alongside of
Delaney Sims (Bogart, GA/George Walton Academy) of the women's volleyball team.
