ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University field hockey team hosted #23 nationally-ranked SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday evening at Yunevich Stadium and dropped a 6-0 Empire 8 loss to the visitors.
 
The Saxons (0-13, 0-7 Empire 8) held the Knights (14-1, 6-0 Empire 8) to only one goal in the second half.
 
Molly Howlett (Brockport, NY/Brockport) recorded 18 saves in the first half en route to a total of 23 on the day.
 
Geneseo totaled 51 shots on offense.
 
The Saxons will next travel to Keuka College for Empire 8 action on Saturday, October 18 at 12:00pm.
