AMHERST, NY – The Alfred University women's lacrosse team began their week with a 12-1 loss to Daemen University (NY) on Tuesday.
The Saxons (2-4, 0-0 Empire 8) did not complete the fourth quarter of action due to the weather conditions.
Kylee Bedette (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) scored Alfred University's lone goal.
Alyssa Piechota (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) recorded nine saves while picking up five ground balls for the Saxons.
"It was tough for us go find our footing and gain any momentum," Head Coach
Julie Decker said. "We hope to improve on Saturday."
Daemen put together a 12-0 lead during the first half, forcing the Saxons to play from behind. In the third quarter, an assist from
Abigail Call (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) to Bedette put Alfred University on the scoreboard. Daemen scored once more before the game was called by the officials at the end of the third quarter.
Alfred University will next return home to host SUNY Morrisville on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
