"We were not at our best today," Head Coach Erich Kaempffe said. "A lot of credit to Muhlenberg for their play. They earned the championship. We are excited to get back to work for conference play."

Following an opening 8-0 run by the Mules, the Saxons got on the scoreboard following a three-point shot by Charles. Wolter and Tyler Hind (Randolph, NY/Randolph) each hit important shots to kept the Saxons within reach in the first half, but an additional scoring run by Muhlenberg had Alfred University trailing 32-24 entering halftime. In the second half, nine of the first 13 points for Alfred University came from three-point territory.
