New Hire: Allison Hogue, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Hogue Joins Alfred University Athletic Communications Staff

ALFRED, NYAllison Hogue was named the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications for the 2024-25 academic year, joining Associate Director of Athletic Communications, Devon Withers MBA '22 and Director of Athletic Communications, Chris Boswell in a team that supports approximately 600 Saxon student-athletes.
 
"We are excited to bring in Allison. Through our first conversation, her passion for the field was evident and we know that her experiences will not only continue our level of quality of work in Athletic Communications, but will help elevate it," Boswell said. "Allison's experience with statistics, journalism, social media and student-athlete engagement was exactly what we were looking for during our search. We quickly understood that her passion is her driving factor and that, paired with her experience at the NCAA Division I level, will have a positive impact on our student-athletes' experience here at Alfred University."
 
Hogue, from the Boston, MA area, has been working as a Game Day Contractor in the area, working the scorers' table at multiple schools since August of this year. Prior to that, she was on the opposite side of the country at Division I, University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. There, she served as the primary contact for the women's basketball, men's soccer, women's soccer, women's water polo, women's cross country and women's track & field programs. At Pacific, Hogue supervised and mentored interns and student workers about the field of Athletic Communications while covering the sports as assigned. She also produced social media content specifically for the Pacific team accounts that brought increases in account reach and engagement.

Prior to her stay in California, Hogue was the Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant for Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, earning her Master of Arts in Sports Communication & Media in 2023. During her time with the Pioneers, she served as the primary contact for the women's basketball, women's lacrosse, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's soccer, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's track & field, women's track & field and softball teams. She covered the women's basketball and women's lacrosse teams who made a run in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, handling all the required media duties while also managing media requests and credentials during their season. She also assisted in coverage of Sacred Heart's football, men's basketball and both men's and women's volleyball teams.
 
Hogue spent time as the Assistant Director of Athletics Media Relations at Coker University in Hartsville, SC, covering acrobatics & tumbling, esports, softball, women's lacrosse and women's soccer. She also spent time as the Communications & Marketing Intern for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, the Sports Communications Summer intern at the University of Florida and the Athletics Communications Intern/Student Worker at Liberty University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Sport Management in 2019.
 
Hogue also gained NCAA tournament experience in 2022 working Game Operations for the Men's Golf and Men's Lacrosse Championships, was the Social Media Liaison/Media Relations for the Women's Basketball Bridgeport Regional. She is currently a member of College Sports Communicators and serves on the Goodwill & Wellness Committee. In November of 2022, she earned College Sports Communicators 30-Under-30 Class of 2022 recognition.

Hogue will be the Saxons' contact for men's cross country, women's cross country, women's tennis, women's volleyball, women's basketball, men's track & field, women's track & field and men's lacrosse.
